an indian recipe that is easy to make and can be consumed as a meal or a side dish with/without lots of greens on the side
- 1/2 cup urad dal(whole black lentils) 1 tbsp rajma(kidney beans,1 cup lowfat milk, 1/2 tsp jeera(cumin seeds),1/2 cup finely chopped onions, 1 tsp ginger-garlic(adrak-lehsun)paste, 1 tsp red chilli powder,
- 1/4 tsp haldi (turmeric)powder, 3/4 cup fresh tomatoe pulp,
- salt to taste
- 2 tbsp finely chopped fresh coriander(cilantro)
Method 1.Clean, wash and soak the whole urad and rajma overnight. Drain and keep aside.
3.Add the milk and 1 cup of water and simmer for 10 minutes while stirring occasionally.
5.Add the chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and tomato
6.Pulp with ¼ cup of water and sauté for 5 to 7 minutes.
7.Add this to the dal mixture and simmer for 10 to 12 minutes till the

9.Serve hot, garnished with the coriander.
Serve with rice,Roti, Naan or plain hard toast.
