Description[]
If you need a quick beverage on the hottest, tackiest afternoons in summer, give this recipe a try. You can use just about any type of juice, and do make sure to use seltzer water as the mixer because it contains no added sodium, unlike club soda (although you may certainly use club soda if it is all you have). After one of these drinks, your thirst will be completely slaked.
Ingredients[]
- 1/4 - 1/2 cup 100% fruit juice of any type (do NOT use cocktail blends, since they usually are loaded with high fructose corn syrup)
- Seltzer water
- Ice cubes
Directions[]
In a tall glass, add a few ice cubes. Measure out the fruit juice and pour into the glass. Top with the seltzer water and use a stirring rod or spoon to blend the juice and seltzer completely.
Sip slowly or gulp it down - it's good any way you drink it!
NOTE: You may certainly choose to add more juice to suit your tastes. I only use between 1/4 to 1/2 a cup because I need to cut calories and while healthy, 100% fruit juices are loaded with a lot of natural sugar.
